Description

WILDERNESS FIRST AID is a very practical approach to medical emergencies due to its focus on utilizing the resources at hand while carrying minimal medical equipment. This 2-year certification adds a level of safety when the unexpected happens in the backcountry, playground, or in the home.

This 16 hour course covers patient assessment, wound care, splinting, environmental injuries and many other important skills, including the vital leadership techniques needed to navigate emergency situations.

**PREREQUSITE: CURRENT CPR/AED CERTIFICATION REQUIRED, 14yrs old** if in need of this  certification- sign up for the CPR/AED course the night before the WFA course or text. Also, those under 14 may attend but cannot be issued a certification.

What to bring:

• A camp chair and/or towel to sit on.
• A water bottle.
• Lunch, snacks, etc. or money to go to fast food/store. We will break for 1 hour for lunch each day. 
• Weather and appropriate outdoor clothing.
• Covid mask
