Our first meeting was a huge success. We fundamentally laid a foundation by introducing how we plan to grow our outdoor skills and as grow as people. Using an archery target as a visual, we discussed how we grow as we move between the comfort and growth zones, while trying to stay away from the danger (or panic) zone. This process allows our skills to be challenged, but is also allows one to recuperate, optimal for growing in any phase of life. We practically put this to the test by practicing breath hold techniques. Practically it prepares us for water and altitude environments along with giving baseline experiences of self-awareness, mental toughness and a way to practice staying out of the panic zone. Overall a great start.
